OPENING AN ACCOUNT - First step to beginning play

To open an Account and request a homeworld in an upcoming Imperial Wars Universe, download and install the Imperial Wars Game Client from the DOWNLOADS page. Directions for downloading and installation are in the QUICK START 1 document there as well as how to access the FREE Sandbox games.

We suggest trying a Sandbox so you can be certain that you want to join one of these interesting and compelling but certainly unique online games. Your fellow Starlords will count on you and your presence, or lack of one, will affect your Universe. Sandbox games don't have human interaction but can give you a "feel" for how moves are made in IWars.

Keys to Success in IWars:

1. SIGN UP IN THE IMPERIAL FORUMS! If you haven't signed up yet for the Free Imperial Forums be sure to do this. It is a treasure trove of information and help from veteran Starlords.

2. DON'T CONFUSE ACTIVITY WITH ACHIEVMENT! IWars may seem to take off slowly in the first few turns. Don't be deceived! Before long you will have just as much game to play as you would ever want!

3. READ QUICK START 2! This short html document available at Downloads will speed you through your first two moves and help you set your empire up for the moments when you meet your fellow Starlords! The messages from SHEF in your Email box will help you plan your first moves as well.

4. KNOW THE CHARACTERS! Understanding how the characters each player chooses from is of key importance in making the most of your game opportunities. There is a lot of room for creativity. Also available at Downloads.

5. COMMUNICATE! It never fails that players are a little nervous about one another before they meet and find out each other's attitudes. If you don't communicate with Starlord neighbors, they will always think the worst and act accordingly. Quickly finding out who your friends are is the quickest method of getting a good jump on the competition. Check your email from the War Room, starting on the first turn!
